Principal's Message
Welcome to Elsinore High School for the 2007-2008 school year! We are pleased that you are taking the time to visit our school through this site, and we hope that you find what you are looking for. We have much to be proud of at Elsinore High School, and we welcome this opportunity to show ourselves to you. Elsinore High School is the oldest high school in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District and one of the oldest high schools in Riverside County. We’ve been around since 1891, and our EHS family is everywhere.
This is my 20th year at Elsinore High School and my third year as principal, and I can’t be more pleased to be in this position. Being a part of this school is both personally and professionally satisfying and invigorating. I am excited about the 2007-2008 school year, because we will continue to build on the great successes we had last year. Last year, we had the highest API gain for any high school in Riverside County, a 41 point increase. The year before we had a 47 point increase, and last year our API went over 700 for the first time. We didn’t have the same gains this year as last year, but we’re still above 700, and we’ll be looking to implement programs this year that will increase our gains even more. We are a 2007 California Distinguished School, and this is the first time in school history that we have accomplished that feat. It won’t be the last time. Last year, both our volleyball team and our football team made it to the CIF championship game, and we are looking forward to another great year for our athletic teams.
At EHS we have a school staff that is second to none. We have a great group of students with whom we are delighted to work. We are a part of a school district that is both supportive and committed to success for all students. We live in a great community that is growing steadily and is becoming increasingly aware of educational issues. Visitors who come to campus are quick to point out the friendly and helpful climate that permeates our school. We are dedicated to maximizing academic success and personal growth for all of our students, and I am confident that we have the people, the resources, and the resolve to do just that.
We are focusing our efforts on preparing our students for a better tomorrow by preparing them with the best academic skills and a clear direction for their lives after high school. We would like to provide every student with an exciting educational experience that will prepare him/her to meet the ever-increasing demands of post-secondary society. We want all students to have the academic background that will enable them to be successful in post-secondary endeavors, whether those endeavors focus on post-secondary education, vocational training, the military, or employment in the workforce. In our hearts we believe that EHS is the best high school around, and we are working toward demonstrating that EHS is the best high school around.
